On changes happened, happening, and that need to happen – April 2018 edition
shadows of spring – @ Hobbit House, ~ April, 2018 |
Ever have a few days/weeks/months/years that are trying, somewhat crushing?
Yeah, me too.
Here’s a link my sis Blood offered for my soul … ’cause she does those kinds of things!
“Bird by Bird” his father said
See what she’s trying to help me do – to encourage me – is to get out of this rut I find myself in.
To extend my wings and soar!
It’s a bit of a challenge what with my incredible agreeableness with the status quo.
It’s dangerous. I should be terrified, scared – acting as if my life depends on my actions, my changing the course I’me following. But I’m not. It’s a pleasant paralysis and that – that’s a very bad thing.
So I quiet the damn dogs, I try to engage my brain and see that it’s as simple as the kind, wise advice offered by friends and professional strangers both – start where you are.
Or as the fabulous poet philosopher good sir David W. states ~
“Start Close In”
by David Whyte
Start close in,
don’t take the second step
or the third,
start with the first
thing
close in,
the step you don’t want to take.
###
Oh the steps I don’t want to take. There’s a book! (anthology? Annual? huh…)
Blood and I spoke of my intense caution, how that might be a concern.
She reminded me of good sir Martin Short’s advice – be your best fan!
all of this is good – all of it makes sense – how do I ACT on these understandable and reasonable things?
Bird by bird, eh?
ciao,
