Current Music:53rd & 3rd – Ramones
Friday…
Stroll down to Zeke’s for grub – quite tasty, and afterwards, we visit BevMo where Boo drools over fancy bottles of Booze! (and some sad customer took out a couple bottles of wine with her purse… broken glass in a store that only has glass things is always sad/entertaining!)

Saturday…
Sammy’s with Boo for lunch (complete with cookies), followed by an XPerience visiting the Master P., then doggie chow purchasing! Weeee… pet stores are fun!!

I make it home to have a pleasant chat with the Carrie, who wants to go out. Boo’s a bit under the weather, so I go to visit with Carrie and Nate-dog – they surprise me with a kidnapping and adventure which turns out to be a visit to the OC… and the happiest place on earth. I can’t really express how wonderful that was. I’m still a bit in shock, but boy did I have a great time. I hadn’t visited MouseLand since my AAI days in ’94 or so, and even then, it was a bratwurst in Small World Food Court and a few rides as we got a bit of rain on us – still had a nice time, since JoAnne was a Mouse Fan. This time, going with natives, I experienced the fabulousness of getting into the park as peeps were leaving, which made the only significant wait the Indy Jones ride – which was fun fun fun… we then hit (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?? insert proper name here) which was old timey miner town, and lots of fun to ride!! A stop by Mr. Toad’s adventure (weeeee!) and then to the Star Tours – I’ve always wanted to do those ‘shuttle’ rides – we had them occasionally at SangerTown, but I didn’t think they’d be worth it. Glad I waited for the real deal, cause I couldn’t stop laughing! Oh, and we saw the projected video on water screen stuff – awesome! Oh, and good grub over at Hook’s Point!

We wrapped the rides with space mountain. Wow. I now know why Mig did what he did when he was young and visiting the park in an altered state of mind. Wow. So fun – weeeeee!!!!!

Carrie was all pleading about if I’d want to come back – hell yeah, girl. hell yeah – and thank you so very very much!!!!

Uh, so to LA around 1am, hang out and view cool UniSubversive films, introduce them to Lazy Sunday, and did I mention the Number 2 doughnut shop in LA? Yum…. home quite late!

Sunday…
We had made plans/efforts to continue with our Museum Madness Tour 2006, since we had a fab time at the Getty in January! So Boo and I headed over to the wilds of Pasadena to take in the Norton Simon Museum. Only FrechAlex could attend, but being that she had been there on Saturday for a lecture, it’s all good ’cause she like the place. We had excellent sammys at the garden cafe, strolled the garden for a bit taking in the ‘Nude Lady On Left Hip’, or as the artist wanted it called – ‘Air’.

The special exhibit we enjoyed thoroughly was Durga and Telling Tales. Durga was about a Hindu Goddess – Nurturing Mother, Avenging Goddess was the sub-title! Very fascinating pondering the sculptures… the intricate work and the fact some were over 1500 years old! whoa!

After the museum we headed over to FrenchAlex’s to hang and see her place – we caught up with her Man, and even helped them have a red letter day with the arrival of a sofa from good man Scott – Alex was so happy and giddy she ran and jumped onto the sofa to enjoy the new-found cushiony-ness of her living room!!! Yay Alex!! We dined on Zankou chicken and realized we were five minutes from Family MartyKate – weeeee… good people in good places!!

We tried to help FrenchAlex and her Man deal with the challenges of getting a biz up and working – not that Boo and I have any skillz in that area, but I asked the stupid questions, and Boo was uber-supportive to the creative ideas and hopes and dreams of the Good People. I hope it works out fantastically!!

What a great weekend. Made me very happy.

Now, to school at 8 tomorrow morning. Oh yeah – gots to pay for the fun, right?

ciao,

:+s+:

oh – from watching a clip from Rundown the other day – a poem from someone who can write poems!

Dylan Thomas’ “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night”
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
