The Bono Cru was so …. so … full of themselves? Well, it’s a film, and they certainly were comfortable at the top of the pile.
I often feel worried that people will look at my particular loves in the music field, and point and laugh. But I do love all sorts of music – at work I get to peruse and listen to people’s ‘shared’ iTunes libraries. I laugh when the name on the account – “Matt’s, 1st Fl POB, EM” then becomes a repository for music guys named matt like. But wait – what’s that – a gem, the Future Kings of Nowhere – nice.
*** Ok, at work – specific example of a library that causes pondering: A-ha, ABBA, Apocalyptica, Beach Boys, Bad Religion, Gogol Bordello(!!), James Brown, Joy Division, Loretta Lynn, Madness, Mazzy Star, Michael Jackson,The Moaners, Nick Cave AND Nick Drake, NOFX, Of Montreal, Rush, The Shins, Superchunk, Tom Waits, The Velvet Underground, Willie Nelson, Mozart… see what I’m saying??

Really, I guess, you can’t judge a library by its name, but once into a library, you see a person’s soul laid bare – if Matt has some Zep in it – and he does, he has it all, I’m also gonna find some sonic youth, maybe some foo fighters, the like. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great example – but today I clicking into a female’s library, and at the top was a workout mix of ‘Single Ladies’, and it went down from there… ok, all the libraries go down, but down down the list I went, looking for stuff – nothing pushed my buttons.
Silver and Gold right now, bono’s sultry vocals … wait … no. wait. Answer me this, where’s the equivalent of any of U2’s righteous tunes against apartheid, civil war in Ireland, the atrocities in El Salvador … I know I have a few in Billy Bragg and Todd Snider , but as the news this week that Cheney felt un-listened-too for the second half of this countries swan dive into shit, a homely my folks used to use – we have the gov’t we deserve… I feel sad that we do, but we do.
Well, a tolerable, actually nice friday afternoon, after a day with my pup 
kickin at the office, then thru the drive thru, finally at the hobbit house as I mess about with too much to do – I hope your having a good time.
