we should discuss

Solar power – except when the Moon takes a bite out of it, is pretty incredible. Spent some time pondering / explaining the power of the sun – how it’s MUCH brighter than the tubes in the ceiling lights at Shari & David’s – much much brighter; like, it heats our earth from 8 light minutes away! So, those solar glasses are not really ‘sun glasses’ – no matter what Gina wants to believe – they are scientific instruments!

Upstate has grown lots of solar ‘farms’ in the recent years – problem is that there’s bullshit ‘competition’ that allowed a fellow named Mark to knock on the door, set the dogs a barking, and inquire to me “are you the one who pays the electric bill at this address?” – he REALLY wanted us to get the credit we deserve!

With no paperwork to offer, and the scent of desperation – “can you call them now?” and “when will they be home today?” I sent him on his way; David shared that in an attempt to foster competition you can buy from anyone you want, with “National Grid” (?) being the transit agency, taking their cut. Matthew highlighted the worst part is the complete shit show of their ‘Unified billing’ attempt – 6 months go by w/o an actual bill for power usage, then a 2100 bill due NOW! Gah – commerce, it’s a hell of a drug amiright?

And then you mix in the wondrous pics of the eclipse, and people gathering, and the joy. Yeah – sunshine. Hell – John was celebrating “Grosse Point Blank” day this past week, spun up the Johnny Nash version of “I Can See Clearly Now” – talk about awesome tune!

So enjoy the sun, I’ll offer my appreciation for the light she casts upon my adventures, and hope to see many more sunsets until my last.

ciao,
