Not quite iPhone-tastic … but still…
Current Mood: impressed
So, we rolled out to the big city last night to enjoy Carrie’s birthday dinner. The food, delicious. Bab’s dessert surprise – wow. Catching ‘The Hangover’ afterward – funny funny funny. so funny.
But on the way out, we failed momentarily due to our current love of the GPS (insert obnoxious acronym description here); if only we had looked at the map before we left.
So either at the point we went around north circle, and it was not the north circle we were looking for, I may have tried to pull up google maps on my celly. There was a ‘download google mobile apps’ link, so I did. and today, after launching and poking about – I have a gps enabled google maps interface. it’s not a talking GPS program – no sassy Aussie Shela telling me to ‘do a loopty-do at your next chance, mate’, but I’ve got 20 meter accuracy that put me on the correct side of the street at work – wow. G’Maps – I know what they look like. Enter a destination, tap for options – place in my favorites, get directions, get reverse directions … all very very slick in the whole ‘hey, I have a problem with my life; what app can I download in 30 seconds, launch and get an answer/solution for in about 3 minutes…’ future in our hand life that we’re living.
wow.
So, boo – if you read this as you’re rolling south using the Sprint Nav app, which DOES give turn by turn – yay! our smart phones rock!!! They’re not making us actually sexier, a la the Jesus phone, but damn they just might be helpful. and I like helpful.
enjoy your monday. Go see The Hangover. Don’t say no to dessert.
ciao,
