Walter Thomas Parry, my grandfather

Walter Thomas Parry, my grandfather

Just poked about and this is a photo from ‘words here’, didn’t try to find that post.
Been pondering the proper time to say ‘hey – you – take a minute and ponder this good person…’ – birthday? date of passing from this world? any good day in which you make the effort to recall and fondly remember the good times?

in a few days it will be the anniversary of Walt’s arrival on this big blue marble, and though I was up on a mountain with friends on the anniversary of his departure, I sit and type and ponder – did he ever make it to North Carolina? What were his feelings during the Civil Rights era of the 50’s & 60s?

did he know that I loved his heart and his laugh and his tobbaco scent and his wonderful circus wagons? does he know I credithim with how good a man I became? Hmmm…

His name was Walt, I called him Grandpa. He loved me (and all the grandkids) so very very much. He made my life overflow with love, and I’m grateful for that.

Of note, today, the 26th of June, was a momentous day here in the good ol’ United States of Agitation – pleased for many things, worried enough about the others. Perhaps a good post for a few days from now.

Today, a tip of the cold beverage in honor of my Gramps – you were a hell of a guy.
